For many French people, breakfast is an opportunity to gather with family or friends and start the day on a positive note. We had the chance to enjoy a leisurely breakfast during our French language class. In the past, at royal courts, breakfast was more of a light snack served after waking up. It typically included pastries, fruit, and warm drinks. Interestingly, croissants were not originally eaten for breakfast, but were instead a popular afternoon treat.
